In the last few years, the BDR team has created both the Washington and Utah Backcountry Discovery Routes, and has just completed a route for the state of Colorado, which will be released with free GPS tracks in early 2013.
This isn’t your ordinary t-shirt; the BDR shirt is made of high-tech materials that wick away sweat and moisture, keeping you cool during the hardest riding.
The Utah Backcountry Discovery Routes documentary, produced by Curbsyde Productions, as well as the route map manufactured by Butler Motorcycle Maps, are now in stock at Touratech-USA!
This exciting documentary by Curbsyde Productions gives you an in-depth look into the creation and first expedition of the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route, a 871 mile long south-north route across the state of Utah, from Arizona to Idaho, for dual-sport and adventure motorcycles and 4×4 vehicles. Expected March 20, 2012.
Here is an extended trailer for the Utah Backcountry Diccovery Route (UTBDR) expedition, an 871 mile off-road route that starts in Mexican Hat and runs north across the state of Utah to the Idaho border near Bear Lake.
Touratech-USA’s Tom Myers and Paul Guillien, accompanied by a group of riders that included Bryce Stevens of Trails.com, Rob Watt of A990 Bags, Joe Lloyd of Curbsyde Productions, Justin Bradshaw of Butler Motorcycle Maps and Justin Summers of KLiM, spent eight days in the Utah backcountry working to establish an off-road route across the state, what they’ve dubbed the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route.
As with many great stories, this one starts with two guys chatting over a pint of beer one evening. They are talking about their shared passion for motorcycles when they stumble upon an idea to create a route from Oregon to Canada through the Washington backcountry. This idea gains momentum when its awarded the 2010 Overland Flag for best proposal for an expedition.
Tom Myers and Paul Guillien, President and General Manager of Touratech-USA, returned to Seattle this week following the completion of a 1000 mile off-road motorcycle journey across the state of Utah.
Tom Myers, President of Touratech-USA, left our Seattle headquarters this morning aboard our new BMW R1200GS and will soon join Paul Guillien, Touratech-USA’s General Manager, and the rest of the Backcountry Discovery Routes team, to being documenting the highly anticipated Utah Backcountry Discovery Route.
