BMW Motorrad recently introduced an updated version of their ever popular F800GS, the F800GS Adventure.
The bike comes equipped with an extra large fuel tank, which holds 2.1 gallons more than the standard F800GS, for a total of 6.3 gallons. According to BMW, fuel economy is right around 48 MPG, and with the extra fuel should extend the range from 200 miles to just over 300 miles on a full tank. A reinforced sub-frame accommodates the extra fuel. Due to the increased fuel capacity, the F800GS Adventure now tips the scales at 505 lbs., 32 lbs. more than the standard model.
Like the R1200GS Adventure, BMW’s new F800GS Adventure comes standard with crash bars and pannier racks. No changes were made to the 798cc parallel twin power-plant, which produces 85 hp and 61 lb-ft of torque. In addition to the added fuel capacity and protection items, BMW made a number of small improvements, making the F800GS Adventure an excellent option for someone looking for an expedition ready bike direct from the dealer.
