Video: ESA Upgrade Shocks at the Aimexpo

At AIMExpo 2015, Touratech’s Paul Guillien introduced the ESA Upgrade shock for the BMW R1200GS (2008-12).

Riders of the oil-cooled BMW R1200GS and GS Adventure now have the ability to upgrade their stock ESA suspension with Touratech Plug and Travel ESA Upgrade shocks.  This is the world’s first complete ESA shock upgrade and it’s a massive step forward for GS owners who have seen limited choices when their stock ESA shocks fail or stop working correctly.

The company’s solution offers all new components including electronics that work seamlessly with the bikes computer. While the button still changes the modes, the settings offer improved performance over the stock shock because of the superior design, high-end materials and the proprietary damping which delivers a ‘Touratech-Tuned Ride”. The valving is set up to meet the needs of GS riders who carry luggage and are drawn to more adventurous terrain.

“Having ridden more than one million miles on all kinds of roads around the world, I knew I needed to come up with a better solution than the original BMW shock. That solution is Touratech Suspension.”

The company also offers an ‘Expedition’ version that adds a remote reservoir, increased oil volume, floating piston design, PDS bottoming prevention, and adjustable high & low speed compression damping on the rear shock. This version is ideal for riders that demand more from their motorcycle.
